SCALP have just published a major update to our guide to the Scottish Covid rules, incorporating changes made from four seperate sets of rule changes.
There are new simplified limits on outdoor gatherings and new exemptions for trade union pickets.
Irrespective of any rule changes, the whole of Scotland is now moved to Level 3 meaning the rules are changing for most everyone anyway. This means that static protests are now permitted across the country again.
Other changes affect levels not currently in use, but they’re worth understanding in case they become relevant again soon:
- Total relaxation of travel rules for Levels 0, 1 and 2: there are no travel rules in these places now.
- Removal of the ‘5 mile’ rule: any recreational ‘day-trip’ travel is now wholly exempt, even at Level 4.
- Outdoor drinking banned in Level 4 areas (this was in force up until Monday).
